Hi, my name is Cynthia Norris and this is my fourth year as
part of the LFE team. I provide speech and language
services to students with speech and language impairments.
Speech and language therapy at LFE includes assisting
students with speech articulation (producing sounds in words and
conversation), social skills, receptive language (the ability to
comprehend spoken information), and expressive language (the
ability to express ideas clearly and appropriately). I
enjoy working with students both in their classrooms and my
classroom.
The 2020-2021 school year will be my 20th year in the district
and my eleventh at Leataata Floyd! I love working with the
students, families, and staff in the Floyd community. My training
is in mental health, community and youth development, social work
and education. I use a trauma-engaged approach and am genuinely
passionate about the wellbeing of each student and staff member
on campus. I love partnering with families in helping their
children thrive. I am passionate about mindfulness and learning
and teaching strategies to navigate the stressors we face in
life.
Jason Knighton, founder of ConditionsFor Learning, has been working
in classrooms for over 20 years. After graduating
from California State University Sacramento (CSUS),
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1992, he obtained
his teaching credential from the Multicultural/Multilingual
Teacher Preparation Center within CSUS, Sacramento in 1993.
